Guido de Groot Design has a comprehensive design programme with the Wim Van der Valk shipyard. Amongst the projects to mention are the Continental Trawler series which range from 23 to 35 metres, of which the 37 metre pictured is now beginning construction.
The 37M rugged good looks by Guido de Groot are combined with a revolutionary new anti-roll damping system. The yacht will be the first ever to have such a system fitted. This in combination with the hull form design makes her a stable and comfortable yacht with great range and efficiency.
She will be built out of steel and Aluminium. Guido de Groot Design will be also responsible for the interior design of this new flagship yacht for the Wim van der Valk Shipyard.
Guido de Groot's design team have been busy with the designs for the successful Continental III series for the Wim Van der Valk shipyard. The first design to be built is a 26m motor yacht, which will be taking pride of place at next year's Dusseldorf Boat Show in January.
The second yacht of the series is the 30m, which is pictured. Additionally, a 25m will also join the range and is currently under construction. The series feature three level layouts, with a raised pilothouse.
They are all designed to function efficiently with a crew, so particular attention has been given to ensure good levels of privacy to the owners and guests alike. Their interiors are custom designed and built in accordance to clients wishes.
Guido de Groot Design has developed a new range of yachts for Holterman Yachts in the Netherlands. The new series of yachts include fly-bridge and sport variants. The Motor Yachts are available in with both displacement and semi displacement hulls. Both series combine sporty lines with robust looks. Holterman is targeting the new range of yachts at clients who seek Dutch build quality combined with timeless elegant designs by the Guido de Groot Design office. The displacement yachts will be built of Steel/Aluminium whilst the new sports yachts will be built of Aluminium.
Guido de Groot Design although primarily known for being a Yacht design studio is in fact a multidisciplinary studio, with strong automotive links, with Guido having started his professional career as a Car Designer. Over the years the studio has engaged upon projects that have included Motor-homes and other vehicles. The motor home project pictured above was an exciting opportunity to flex those creative muscles. The project was undertaken for a client that spent a considerable amount of time in the desert. His request was for a go-anywhere motor-home. The highly capable machine to be built in Holland by a specialist firm.
This go-anywhere truck would be designed to provide the owner with exceptional luxury and comfort in the most demanding desert conditions; the motor home has a generous master bedroom and bathroom with a well proportioned main salon area for entertaining which can double up as a second sleeping area if required. The motor home features an observation platform above and a garage to carry a quad-bike.
Guido de Groot Design is proud to announce winning the Interior Design awards in the category of semi displacement motor yachts with AB116 MY “Diamond.”
